How Much Does Business Video Production Cost in Australia?

CS Ecom guide: What does video cost? Professional camera ready for a business shoot.

By CS Ecom · Researched October 2026

Business video production does not have one standard Australian price. The cost depends on the brief, shoot, people, editing and deliverables. At CS Ecom, our business intro video is A$1,500 including GST, the Brand Kickstarter is A$2,500 including GST and the monthly content package is A$4,000 per month including GST with a three-month contract.

Those are our package prices, not an industry average. Compare the actual deliverables before comparing the final number. Two quotes both saying “a video” can describe very different amounts of work.

Plan your deliverables using our video aspect-ratio guide. When the footage will support paid campaigns, connect the brief with Meta ad management so production serves the campaign objective.

What do CS Ecom's video packages include?

Package Price including GST Core deliverables
Business intro welcome video A$1,500 one-off Shoot and edit; 16:9 welcome video plus 9:16 vertical and 1:1 square versions
Brand Kickstarter A$2,500 one-off Introduction video, website banner edit, three vertical social reels and square versions; in-house shoot and editing
Monthly content A$4,000 per month; three-month contract Five posts per week: three reels and two static graphics; initial two-day shoot, editing, landscape/square video versions and Meta Business Suite scheduling

Confirm the current package, project timing and any extra requirements in writing before booking. An aspect-ratio export is a version of an edit; it does not automatically mean another completely different video concept.

Why can two video quotes be so different?

Planning and the message

A useful brief identifies the audience, the problem, the offer and the next step. Someone needs to decide what to say and what to film. A polished two-minute tour that never explains why customers should choose you is an expensive way to show people your reception desk.

The shoot itself

Locations, travel, crew, sound, lighting, presenters and the availability of your team affect the work. Filming a quiet interview in one room is different from capturing staff, products and customer activity across several sites. Background noise and access restrictions can change the plan.

Editing and approval

Editing includes selecting footage, shaping the story, cleaning audio, colour work, captions and graphics. Approval is part of the workload too. Agree who signs off and what the revision process covers. Five colleagues sending five contradictory emails is not a creative direction.

Versions, licensing and usage

A website introduction, a short paid ad and a silent banner need different decisions. Confirm music and footage licensing, paid-ad usage, caption requirements and whether raw footage or project files are included. Never assume a popular song is cleared for commercial advertising.

What should you have ready before a shoot?

  • One audience: who should watch and recognise that this is for them?
  • One useful promise: what can the business genuinely help them do?
  • Proof: real work, products, demonstrations and permitted customer stories.
  • A destination: the page or enquiry path the viewer should use next.
  • A shot list: people, locations, products and actions needed to tell the story.
  • A decision maker: one person to consolidate feedback.

For example, a local kitchen installer could plan a business introduction, footage of an actual installation and short clips answering questions about quoting and timelines. That is a hypothetical brief, not a claim about a client result. The goal is to make one organised shoot serve several specific jobs.

Which video formats should the quote include?

Ask where the content will run. A practical mix is 16:9 landscape for a website and standard YouTube viewing, 9:16 vertical for Reels, Stories, TikTok and Shorts, and 1:1 square for suitable feed placements. A 4:5 feed version may also be useful.

These should be properly reframed and checked, with readable captions and room for platform controls. Cutting the sides off a landscape interview can remove half the demonstration. Film with the intended placements in mind.

How do you decide whether the investment is worthwhile?

Start with the job the video needs to do: explain a service, reduce uncertainty, support an ad or answer a repeated sales question. Decide what you will measure before production. Enquiries, qualified leads, product understanding and sales can matter more than views alone.

A video cannot independently guarantee sales. The offer, audience, distribution, landing page and follow-up all influence the outcome. Include those in the plan rather than uploading the file and waiting for the internet to applaud.

Questions to ask before accepting a quote

  1. How many distinct edits and format versions will we receive?
  2. What filming time, locations and travel are included?
  3. Who handles the brief, captions, graphics and revisions?
  4. What usage rights, music licences and file handover are included?
  5. What happens if we need another shoot or a change after approval?

Frequently asked questions

Is a monthly content package better than a one-off shoot?

It depends on whether you need an ongoing publishing rhythm or a specific set of assets. A one-off introduction can suit a website refresh. An ongoing package suits a business with a clear content plan and someone ready to approve it consistently.

Does the package price include advertising spend?

The production package describes content deliverables. Confirm any ad management or media spend separately; making the creative and paying a platform to distribute it are separate decisions.
